The Erasmus+ Innovation Alliance project “Business Model Innovation with Artificial Intelligence for Urgent Green Agenda – Educate to Innovate: AI4GreenBus” officially launched its activities with the first transnational partner meeting held on 16-17 February 2026 in Luleå, Sweden. The meeting was hosted by Luleå University of Technology.
The two-day kick-off meeting brought together around 30 representatives from all 10 partner organisations across Finland, Sweden, Germany, Latvia, France, and Romania, marking an important starting point for the project.
Meeting face-to-face provided a strong foundation for collaboration, enabling partners to establish personal connections, align expectations, and build a shared vision. The discussions focused on project objectives, work package planning, governance structure, and key deliverables, effectively giving a strong kick-start to the project implementation.
The AI4GreenBus project is an Erasmus+ Innovation Alliance designed to respond to one of Europe’s most pressing challenges – the need to combine green transition with rapid digitalisation. Today’s businesses are expected not only to be sustainable, but also technologically advanced, yet there is still a clear gap between what education provides and what the labour market actually needs.
This project directly addresses that gap. It brings together universities, vocational education providers, and industry partners to co-create new ways of learning and applying knowledge in real-life contexts. Unlike traditional academic programmes, AI4GreenBus focuses on practical, hands-on learning where students and professionals work on real sustainability challenges and develop concrete business solutions.
This initial meeting set the tone for a collaborative journey towards developing innovative approaches to teaching sustainable business through artificial intelligence, combining expertise from higher education institutions, vocational education providers, industry, and innovation organisations across Europe.
