Latvian partners join forces to build a sustainable business innovation ecosystem

On 17 July 2026, the Latvian partners of the AI4GreenBus – Business Model Innovation with Artificial Intelligence for Urgent Green Agenda project met in Riga to continue developing the Latvia sustainable business model innovation ecosystem.

The meeting brought together representatives from higher education institutions, vocational education and training (VET) providers, industry, and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), ensuring that the perspectives of educators, businesses and employers are equally represented. This close cooperation is at the heart of the project’s ambition to prepare a new generation of professionals equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for the green and digital transition.

The workshop was based on the Triple Helix approach, which promotes collaboration between education, business and the wider innovation ecosystem. By working together, partners aim to design learning opportunities that respond to real labour market needs while supporting sustainable business development.

During the meeting, participants discussed the future competencies required by businesses, explored how artificial intelligence can support sustainable business model innovation, and began identifying real-life business challenges that students will address in cooperation with companies. These practical challenges will become an integral part of the AI4GreenBus learning experience, allowing learners to develop future-oriented skills while working on authentic industry problems.

The AI4GreenBus partnership believes that the best educational solutions are created when all stakeholders work together. The collaboration established in Latvia demonstrates how higher education, VET, industry and employer organisations can jointly shape innovative education that benefits learners, businesses and society alike.

The workshop marked another important step towards building a strong and sustainable innovation ecosystem that will continue to grow together with AI4GreenBus partners across Europe.
